WELCOME TO

JENKS CAREPOINT

Hours Of Operation

Jenks CarePoint is a Christian based ministry sponsored by Jenks area businesses and churches and managed by a team from First Baptist Church Jenks, First Oklahoma Bank, Yale Cleaners, Jenks Public Schools, and South Tulsa Baptist Church.

“Our mission is to serve the students and families of Jenks Public Schools and the community by providing resources and programs to meet physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs as we share the love and hope that is found in Christ.”

Jenks CarePoint is scheduled to begin operations in August of 2018. We will serve as the primary clothing closet for Jenks Public Schools, its students and their families. Our facility has space that will be utilized for educational opportunities designed to help our clients improve their social, financial, emotional and spiritual well being.

How Can You Help?

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger and you invited me in. I was sick and you looked after me. I was in prison and you came to visit me” (Matthew 25:35-36).

Jenks CarePoint is staffed by volunteers and there is always a need for more workers to help.

We need people to:

  • Greet and check in clients
  • Sort and fold clothes
  • Work with clients in the clothing room
  • Conduct intake interviews in order to determine a family's need
  • Special projects such as building maintenance

We need businesses and churches to:

  • Regularly collect clothing for the CarePoint
  • Consider making this ministry a part of your Business or church budget
  • Become part of our ministry team

Get Involved

Help needed

While we are still in the development phase of our ministry, we are currently receiving clothing donations Monday through Friday from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm at both First Baptist Church Jenks and South Tulsa Baptist Church. We will soon need volunteers to help us sort and organize donations to prepare for the opening of CarePoint. Regular volunteers will also be needed Monday through Thursday as soon as our facility is up and running. If you can put in a few hours each week, your help would be greatly appreciated. For more information, you may email us at info@jenkscarepoint.org.

Clothing needed

As we look toward a new school year, we want to have plenty of stock to provide for all Jenks students who have a need. As you are cleaning out your closets, consider giving your donation to Jenks CarePoint. Don’t overlook items such as gently used backpacks, shoes, pajamas and coats.  These items disappear quickly and are often in short supply.

Special Projects

Jenks CarePoint is the perfect place to adopt for a back to school or Christmas project.  Groups of all ages could focus on gathering new socks and undergarments for back to school. As the weather turns colder, the emphasis could turn to mittens, gloves and hats or gently used coats and boots.

Please prayerfully consider these opportunities for service. If you have any questions, contact Kara Lee at kara@jenkscarepoint.org
